About Me
My name is Michelle Lynch, and I am an artist from the west coast of Ireland. I live here with my Canadian husband, raising our three young children and our dog, Seamus. After two decades away from painting, returning to live in Ireland rekindled my passion for painting.
I feel most at home being surrounded by nature. As a result, my paintings are a reflection of the rich landscape around me and the profound emotions they evoke. It is also a source of healing and energy for me.
I feel incredibly fortunate to view the world through an artist's eyes. This means that I see a thousand possibilities for a painting or a photograph as I walk down the road I have traveled a thousand times. My mind captures scenes, colours, shapes and movements. Magic is all around us, even in the most mundane places. I would describe my style as abstract impressionism. I mostly use acrylic paint on canvas, paper or wood.
I also believe in the continuous pursuit of learning and personal growth. Our mindset wields profound power, and nurturing it daily is essential. For me, painting and an open mindset are deeply intertwined; one cannot exist without the other.
My educational background includes a Degree in Graphic Design from the Limerick School of Art & Design and a First Class Masters Degree in Professional Design Practice from the Dublin Institute of Technology.
I also received a prestigious award from the International Society of Typographic Design.
